This printed unbleached heavyweight cotton linen fabric features the Ostjakki pattern designed by Fujiwo Ishimoto in 1983.
The Ostjakki (Khanty) check pattern was originally part of a collection entitled Iso karhu (Ursa Major), which was inspired by a book depicting the life of the Finno-Ugrian peoples as well as by textiles patterned using the traditional ikat dyeing technique.
